Family Home Evening

Trevor welcomes everyone then leads his favorite songs for Family Home Evening. He always picks I am a Child of God for the opening song and Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam for the closing song. He loves to lead by waving his hand slowly then speeding it up for us to sing faster. This is a fun part of the evening.

Spring Break Vacation

For Spring Break we decided to go to San Antonio. My birthday 3/22 was the start of our vacation. Tony and the boys gave me a pearl necklace! Then we went to the Alamo. We went down to the riverwalk. Trevor loved the riverwalk and really liked riding in the boat on the river. Our next adventure (3/23) took us to Padre Island. Trevor went with Dad to play in the water the waves just about swallowed him up! He would not go near the water after that. He did enjoy getting sand all over himself though. It was a beautiful day. The boys got stamps in their passports. Next we made our way to the home of Lyndon B. Johnson. (3/24) The boys really love getting out their National Park passports to get their stamps. We went to the Tower of the Americas. (3/25) It is a really neat tower. At the top you spin around slowly 360 degrees to see the entire city. Wow what a view! We also went to Fort Sam Houston where Tony was stationed/deployed in 2004. There on post is the "quad" where animals run free. You can pet them and feed them. When Blake was little, he thought his Dad worked at the Army zoo. So we took the boys to the "army zoo" where Daddy used to work. The deer ran away from Trevor. Grant was afraid to get too close. The ducks and peacocks were fun to watch. We visited the local Zoo where we all got to ride a little train. Trevor was so excited to ride a train! He called it "Percy" one of the Thomas train characters. The children's museum was our next stop. (3/26)We got more passport stamps at the other missions. (El Camino Real de los Tejas NHT) We played in the pool that evening, it was still hot! Then on Friday, (3/27) we went to our major destination-Sea World! While we were there, we saw Nascar #48Jimmie Johnson's car. That made Blake really happy. Last but not least, came our next biggest adventure(s)(3/28)we stopped in Dallas, we went to the boy scout museum and a Day out with Thomas the tank engine! We did this with Blake when he was four. Now we were doing it for Trevor. He was so excited and he had a great time despite the fact that it was really cold. I had to stop at the store to buy warmer clothing because it was so cold. We made a pit stop to see the verizon wireless Nascar. Blake is a huge fan of Nascar and got to be a part of the pit crew and change the tire for Justin Allgaier's car. What a great vacation!
